The medieval residential building in Nuremberg’s Old Town served as the home and workplace of the Nuremberg artist Albrecht Dürer from 1509 onwards. Albrecht Dürer was a German painter, graphic artist, mathematician, and art theorist who was one of the first to elevate the genre of self-portraiture to artistic independence.”
