The Itaipú hydroelectric power plant and the associated dam are one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world and are located on the Parana River on the border between Paraguay and Brazil. The power plant was built in the 1970s and is a remarkable technical achievement. It produces an enormous amount of electricity and supplies both Paraguay and Brazil with energy. The entrance fee to the Itaipú Hydroelectric Power Plant and Dam is approximately: 56R$ (bus tour) | 160R$ (bus tour incl. guided tour and visit to the inside of the power plant)”.
