Bikes can be rented from Tier, Nextbike, Bolt, Call a Bike, Lime or Donkey Republic and offer a practical option for short distances. For more urban routes, scooters can be rented from Tier or Emmy. Alternatively, there is the option of using a cab or transportation services such as Uber, Free Now or Sixt Ride.
Grocery
You will find a wide selection of grocery stores in Berlin. The classic opening hours are between 7/8:00 and 21/22/23/00:00, depending on the supermarket. Grocery stores are generally not open on Sundays and public holidays. Throughout the city you will find medium-sized and some large supermarkets and discount stores such as Edeka, Rewe, Aldi, Lidl, HIT, Penny, tegut, Norma and Kaufland. Exceptions to the opening hours, even on Sundays and public holidays, can be found at the main train station or at so-called “Spätis”. Spätis are small kiosks where you can buy drinks and a few items. Some Spätis are even open 24 hours a day, whereas most are open until 02:00/03:00.
